You can now book out of hours telephone consultations. If you wish to have a telephone consultation before 8am or after 6:30pm please contact reception on 0161 214 8710 to book an appointment.
There are several ways to make an appointment:
- Online - a percentage of our appointments are available to book online.
- Face to face - come into reception and our receptionists will be happy to make an appointment for you.
- Telephone - call the surgery on 0161 214 8710 to make an appointment.
**Online appointments. When patient numbers grow we will release more online appointments. If you book your appointments online and they have all gone, you still have the option to ring reception to see if there are any other appointments available.
Please remember to give us your mobile number (if you have one), you will then get an appointment reminder 24 hours before so you don't forget.
Travel Vaccination Appointments
We now have dedicated clinics for travel vaccinations, please contact reception to book. These appointments are very time consuming and when we book families to have their travel vaccinations, these appointments can last for one and a half hours. When patients then cancel or simply don't turn up that time is wasted. We have a backlog of patients waiting for chronic disease management reviews and these patients need to take priority. Any patients who do not attend or cancel their appointments will not be offered any further appointment but will be redirected to a travel clinic where they will have to pay privately. We may also ask for a deposit to secure the appointment, reimbursed when you attend for your appointment.
WE ARE ALSO A YELLOW FEVER CLINIC.
Electronic Prescription Service
If you get regular prescriptions the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) may be able to save you time by saving you unnecessary trips to your GP.
EPS makes it possible for your prescriptions to be sent electronically to the pharmacy or dispenser of your choice.
Choosing a pharmacy or dispensing appliance contractor to process your EPS prescription is called nomination. This means, you will no longer have to collect a paper repeat prescription from your GP practice and instead you can go straight to the nominated pharmacy or dispensing appliance contractor to pick up your medicines or medical appliances.
Because your pharmacist has already received your electronic prescription, they may be able to prepare your items in advance, so you just have to pick it up with no extra wait. However, this will depend on the capacity of pharmacists on the day and may not be possible all the time.
How can I start using EPS?
You don't need a computer to use EPS. You can use the Electronic Prescription Service as long as both your GP surgery and the pharmacy (or other dispensing appliance contractor) offers the service.
GP practices and pharmacies may display the EPS sign on their premises to show that they can be nominated. Ask your pharmacist or GP for more advice, they will be happy to help you.
You'll then need to nominate the place you'd like to pick up your prescription medicines or appliances from in the future. You can choose the most convenient place for you, such as near your home, where you shop or where you work. This is flexible and can be changed at any time, just let your doctor or pharmacy know.
You can choose one of the following:
- a pharmacy
- a dispensing appliance contractor (if you use one)
- your dispensing GP practice (if you are eligible)
