We now offer extended hours access via telephone consultations.  If you require an out of hours telephone consultation please contact reception on 0161 214 8710 to book.

Due to the volume of work and staffing issues we are unable to turn prescriptions around in 2 days.  Please allow 3 WORKING DAYS before collection your prescriptions.  We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

We are currently running a patient survey.  If you would like a questionnaire please ask at reception.

Military Veterans - Please let us know who you are.  We can then send you useful information on how to access health services and support groups.

 

 

FLU Campaign 2019/20

 

We have completed the first two Over 65 flu clinics.

 

We are still awaiting stock of our Under 65 ‘At Risk’ vaccines – they are expected from the 18th October. Clinics will be organised when we have a sufficient stock to run them.

 

Children’s Flu – We will be taking part in the ‘FLUATHON’ on the 2nd November and all children in an ‘at risk’ group will be invited (apart from the children who have theirs in school).

 

DON’T WORRY if you can’t get to the organised clinics – we will be running catch-up clinics until the end of December.

Thursday Afternoon Opening

We are now open on a Thursday afternoon.  Patients can call into the surgery to collect prescriptions or make an appointment.

If you need to see a GP urgently or require telephone advice please telephone the surgery on 0161 214 8710 and your call will be diverted to Go To Doc who will arrange an appointment for you.

Prescription Collections - Please allow 3 working days before collecting your prescription.  Due to staff leave and volume of work we are currently unable to turn them around in 2 days.  We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Dr Edge - Dr Edge has now retired from Albion Medical Practice.  We wish him a long and happy retirement.

Dr Douglas who has worked with us for 7 years as a Salaried GP has now become Partner replacing Dr Edge.  Dr Douglas will be doing 7 sessions per week.

We would like to welcome Dr Spreckley to Albion Medical Practice.  Dr Spreckley is our new Salaried GP and will be working on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

New Trainee - Dr Fallon John is our new Foundation Year trainee and will be with us until December 2019.

Ashton Walk-in Centre is moving!!

On the 29th April 2019, a new walk-in centre for urgent care will be opening at Tameside Hospital (next to A&E) and will be open from 9am until 9pm.

There will no longer be a walk-in service at the Primary Care Centre on Old Street.

Out of Hours Access 

You can now access out of hours telephone consultations.  Please contact reception on 0161 214 8710 if you wish to book a telephone consultation before 8am of after 6:30pm.

Locally we have the following services that patients can use directly for 'out of hours' access:

NHS 111 – Patients can speak to trained advisers who will assess their symptoms and direct them to the best, most appropriate service to receive medical care/support.  All calls are free from landlines and mobile phones and available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year

You can access your medical records on your mobile phone, IPad, tablet, laptop or desktop computer.

You can now make appointments, request repeat medication and view your medical record on-line .  If you would like to register for on-line access please contact reception to request further information. You will require ID to register.  For further information please read the practice newsletter.
